How to Sell Diamond Rings

It’s time to divorce your old jewellery, for whatever reasons, and the top of your list is the thing that consider to be worth the most, that diamond ring. You might think it would be easy to sell diamond rings, but it isn’t. Here are some tips that will help you out when you try to get rid of yours.

The first thing you need to do when you come to sell diamond rings is to understand exactly what it is that you are selling. To do this you will need to get the ring graded by a reputable organisation. If you don’t get any kind of formal grading to authenticate the quality of the diamond that you have, you will have big problems when you try to sell diamond rings.

Once you know what level of diamond you have, the next step is for you to do some market research. How much do others sell diamond rings for? You need to find this out and understand that the cheapest price you find is the one that will be closest to what you get, not the price that you might see on the high street in some fancy jewellers.

Once you have your target price, you then need to think about who you will sell diamond rings to. There are several options at your disposal but it is up to you to decide just who will give you the best value for money.

If you go to  a pawn shop it is very unlikely that you will get anywhere near the true value of the object you are looking to sell. Pawn shops and gold buyers can get their hands on as many diamonds as they want at wholesale price, so the only way they will think of buying from you is if the price is close to what they can get when they follow that route. In short, if you look to sell diamond rings, this is probably not the best place for you to start.

You will be able to find several online brokers who specialise in diamonds. These guys will give you a better deal than the pawn shop, but you will still probably end up with less than you were expecting. Another route would be for you to throw caution to the wind and try to sell it on somewhere like Ebay. The beauty of this is that you are selling to the general public rather than professionals so you may end up being able to sell diamond rings at a price that somewhere close to the one you were hoping for at the outset.

What you will have probably worked out by now is that it is much easier said than done to sell diamond rings. You might have an object that you think is worth a fortune, but in reality the dealers out there will only look to offer you a few pennies. Persevere though and you might get somewhere close to the real value. Good luck!
